According to a story on the Sporting News website, the AAFL will be postponing its inaugural season to 2009, unless immediate financial backing is found. www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=375416 I had high hopes for this league, but the lack of meaningful publicity, the lack of ticket sales, and general indifference from fans and news media had me thinking this news was inevitable. I doubt they will start in 2009. Seems like originally, they postponed a planned 2007 start until this year.

Sad news for some good football players with Middle Tennessee ties (Dwone Hicks, Norval McKenzie, etc) that would have been good players in this league. I'm not holding my breath about 2009 for the AAFL.
There are now NO professional indoor or outdoor football teams in the State of Tennessee except the Tennessee Titans.
