So people are here now, now the next question, what are we here for?
What's the purpose for this board? Are we here in the hopes of a new team and keeping together? Is it just a social thing?

I'd say it's mainly a social thing. Hopes for a new team are slim and none, and slim is leaving town.
I for one, always check our board whenever I log on to the internet. It would seem very odd to go "cold turkey" and not have a board to go to.
I've always enjoyed the banter and discussions, as well as the movie reviews and the various and sundry other postings. Our "little family" has been together for quite a while. It just wouldn't feel right to pull the plug and cease communications right off the bat.
Thanks to KatsFan, we've still got a place to hang out, for now anyway.

I agree Larry. The first place I usually went to was the board each time I got online. I'd miss all the comaraderie......did I spell that right???

I'd miss all the comaraderie......did I spell that right??? Camaraderie. Sorry, iut's the ex-proofreader coming out of me. I think comaraderie is the condition where a bunch of friends drink so much beer they all pass out in the living room together. Not that there's anything wrong with it. Yeah, the old message board was the first place I surfed after checking my e-mail. If IE offered a home button and like a secondary home button (summer home?), the message boards would have had that one.

Yeah, the new IE has a feature where more than one site will pop up as the home sites. 'Tis pretty cool. I still prefer Firefox, though.
