In case it doesn't make the papers, here's Uncle Larr's view:
To the Editor:
Okay, it's time to put to rest all the whining by the Steeler fans, regarding the "desecration" of their precious "terrible towels".
The only thing terrible about the Steeler fans, is the fact that none of them know how to behave going into an opposing team's stadium. It began on Saturday night as my wife and I attended the Predators' game. All up and down Broadway and Second Avenue, Steeler fans were already out in large numbers, wearing their Steeler gear and waving those stupid towels. Even at the hockey game there were people waving the towels.
At the game on Sunday, Steeler fans turned out in huge numbers, strutting around the stadium and taunting Titans fans, even before the game started. They thought this game was going to be a cakewalk for them, and they were determined to disrespect our team and our fans as much as possible. The towels were waved in our faces the whole game long. As well as insults and obscenities being hurled as well.
I for one, wanted to do exactly what Lendale White, Keith Bulluck and Jevon Kearse did.
Message to Steeler fans: You want respect?
SHOW SOME RESPECT!!
Next time leave the towels at home, or wave them with a little more common sense and restraint.
You just never know when you may have to ease out of the stadium, with your "terrible towels" tucked between your legs, as was the case Sunday, when the Titans kicked your team's collective butts.
