I don't think this compares to Pearl Harbor, but it sure is an infamous date in my mind...the day we lose the Kats in Nashville.

It p***es me off more than the first Kats team. Everyone knew that was going to happen. Here, they left us hanging a long time.
You would think that, in that time, they would be trying to sell season tickets, advertising, and sponsorships for next year, and see if there was any hope of survival.
Rats to Bud Adams.
BTW, season ticket holders, insist on a refund for the playoff tickets included in last year's season ticket package.

Could the team still be purchased? I know that there has been a businessperson in the area looking in to it. Of course now it seems too late , b ut I was wondering what else could possibly be done

When Bud ceased operations, the AFL took back the rights to the Nashville franchise. I spoke to a league management official yesterday and they have assured me that they understand there is a passion for the AFL in Nashville, but the previous owner just didn't share that passion. The league has not given up on Nashville because of the intense interest our area has for Football, both Pro & College, not to mention the support for the Preds and the excellent Sommet Center. Although no timetable has been set, they are looking at relocation or a new franchise owner for Nashville. (Not likely a new team would be called the Kats...and they will not put an af2 team in Nashville...only an AFL team.)

"The League" spouts the same crap that PR man David Baker does. They tell everybody what they think they want to hear.
Odds of another AFL franchise here are VERY slim to say the least.

Don't listen to the man behind the curtain. He knows not what he speaks. Over the years, my position has given me the opportunity to get an inside track with the AFL office. I stand by my statements.

I'm not behind any curtain, and I DO know what I'M talking about. I stand behind my statements as well.
Time will prove me correct.
Oz has a better chance of getting an AFL franchise.
Over the years, my position has given me the opportunity to know when I'm being fed a load of crap by the AFL office.
The AFL office are pros at putting lipstick on pigs.
It would indeed, be great to have another AFL team in Nashville. But it just isn't in the forseeable future.

Your "crystal ball" is actually a snow globe. So is yours for that matter, but more "rose-colored".

Just deleted my Kats account and now am a member here. Sad but a new start. Welcome to our new home. Just throw your stuff anywhere, but stay off the couch, out of the recliner and out of Charliy's way in the kitchen. (He's making some of that yankee chili, with no beans.) ;D
